A letter from Lucienne Cyril, President of Lucy's Heart
Dear friends,
I thank you for your generosity in giving to our cause of helping the needy in Haiti. Because of you many children and young adults fulfilled their educational and physical needs.
Before we start 2017 I would like to update you on the many activities that took place from 2015 to today.
Because of your financial support we were able to replace dilapidated pews with 20 beautiful new ones. The floor has been tiled and the interior is finished at the church in Rosier, Port-Salut in the south of Haiti. We also finish the interior wall and raise the podium of the church in Lachapelle , Central Haiti.
We were also able to assist five nursing students , one theology student and four elementary school age students.
This summer we spent 3 weeks in Haiti with a great supporter of Lucy’s heart, and Mrs. Betty Luke. We conducted Vacation Bible school where more than 200 children attended. And for the young adults, we conducted motivational seminars.
We are also blessed with the outstanding support of Ghislaine Martin who is the liaison between the students and their respective schools.
At this time our goal before the beginning of 2017 is to paint the exterior of both churches, tile the floor of La Chapelle church and continue with the scholarship program for our children.
